Spånga IS FK was one of 69 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Vintercupen 2017. They participated with two teams in P05-Lätt/Medel and P05-Svår/Extra svår respectively. Two teams played until Avslutningsmatch 9 in Slutspel; P05-Lätt/Medel 5 Vit lost against Enskede IK Grön 2 by 0-7 and P05-Svår/Extra svår 5 Blå lost against AIK FF U by 2-3.
In addition to this, Spånga IS FK have participated in Vintercupen before. During Vintercupen 2016, Spånga IS FK had two teams playing in P06-Lätt/Medel and P04-Svår/Extra svår respectively. The team in P04-Svår/Extra svår made it to the the Final in Slutspel, but lost it against Tyresö FF 2 by 0-1. Spånga IS FK comes from Spånga which lies approximately 10 km from Djursholm, where Vintercupen takes place. The area around Spånga does also provide 57 additional clubs participating during Vintercupen 2017 (Among others: Tullinge TP, Sollentuna FK Sportfältet, Hammarby IF FF, Apollon Solna FK, Mälarhöjdens IK Svart, IFK Lidingö FK 3, IFK Haninge 2, FC Boo 1, IFK Lidingö FK 11 and Spårvägens FF).
